What is Reiki?

Reiki means Universal Energy and is a system of non invasive healing akin to spiritual healing.

Developed by Dr Usui following his research into the mechanics of healing as used by the Christ, Buddha and other great figures, it is now a widely used form of energetic therapy.

Many therapists of other disciplines add Reiki into their treatments to increase their clients potential to heal.

Reiki uses a set of symbols to key the practitioner and client into the relevant energy. From there it is said that the Ki will flow 'like water down a hill' into the patient until their system is fully charged

It is believed that the Ki has no alignment or 'mission' of its own, it merely fills up the clients depleted resources thus enabling them to heal naturally.

There are many other forms of Reiki in existence now, so it up to the client to determine which form is more appropriate to their needs. Shen Dao only practises the original Usui style.
